TO: THE UNKNOWN BIRTH FATHER OF BABY BOY Z
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that a Petition for Adoption has been filed by Petitioners in the above-entitled Court and cause on February 11, 2014. The Petitioners are required to give The Unknown Birth Father of Baby Boy Z notice that the above-referenced Petition for Adoption was filed which requests a decree allowing petitioners to adopt Baby Boy Z, born to the birth mother, MZ, on February 1, 2014, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
YOU ARE NOTIFIED that pursuant to NMSA 35A-5-8 (1978), the identity of the Petitioners shall not be made known to the biological birth father, unless otherwise agreed upon by the parties. Since there has not been any agreement between yourself and the Petitioners, all information pertaining to the Petitioners has been modified to prevent disclosure.
PLEASE BE FURTHER NOTIFIED that pursuant to NMSA 35A-5-27 (A) (1978), you have twenty (20) days from the date of service in which to respond to the Petition if you intend to contest the adoption with the Second Judicial District Court, Children’s Court Division, 5100 2nd Street, N.W., Albuquerque, New Mexico 87107. Your failure to so respond shall be treated as a default and your consent to the adoption shall not be required.
